Workshop with Simon Borg-Olivier of Yoga Synergy 21-22 August 2010
 
Simon Borg-Olivier from Yoga Synergy Sydney is one of Australia's best yoga teachers. He will be joining us in Canberra from 20-22 August 2010.
Simon will be running a workshop in which he will teach the fire sequence from yoga synergy. He'll be breaking down poses from the sequence, explaining correct alignment and which joint and muscle complexes are involved in each pose. Simin will also spend time working with the bandas. The last of the five sessions of this fabulous weekend will culminate in Simon teaching the fire sequence in it's entirety.
This course will be fabulous for those wanting to deepen their knowledge of yoga and enhance their practice. it will certainly help yogis with different yoga backgrounds but will be especially beneficial for ashtanga, vinyasa flow and hatha fusion students.

Sakshin Ghatastha Yoga Workshop with Prahlad (October)
A weekend workshop which will deepen your knowledge of yoga poses and yoga philosophy.

Friday : Demonstration and talk by Prahlad. Free event, all welcome.
Saturday and Sunday: 10-12 and 3-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Prahlad will be introducing the first grade of Sakshin Ghatastha yoga and in so doing will break down many of the yoga poses you are familiar with.
Prahlad has a solid grounding in the principles of hatha yoga and teaches a workshop filled with technical pointers and philosophy.
Cost: $160 for advanced payments received by 30 June 2010. $200 thereafter.
Prahlad has been teaching for over twenty years in Europe, the Middle East, the United States and Australia. In 1994 he founded the Hatha Yoga Institute in Cologne, Germany and in 1998 Prahlad founded the Yoga Arts Academy in Melbourne, Australia.
NEW YOGA EXPERIENCE COMES TO CANBERRA - A FUSION OF YOGA AND MUSIC
THE FUTURE SOUND OF YOGA ANNOUNCES TWO EVENTS IN JULY
A unique fusion of yoga and music arrives in Canberra on the 9th and 10th of July, with two events appealing to both yoga and music fans seeking an alternative Friday or Saturday experience.
Matt Singmin (the DJ) creates a soundtrack which enhances the Hatha-based class taught by yoga teacher Angel.
While the moves are a combination of traditional yoga poses and free form dance, the music is different to traditional "yoga" music. The DJ draws on electronic dance music (such as Massive Attack, Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers) and atmospheric band/artist albums (Radiohead, Bjork, Sigur Ros), as well as classical music and film soundtracks.
The Future Sound of Yoga has built up a strong following in Sydney since launching six months ago. Fans enjoy the fresh approach to yoga which helps them switch off the mind, connect with the body and let go.
“We wanted to offer a new way for people to experience great music that differed from the usual bar/club experience,” said Matt Singmin. “The positive feedback we’ve received has encouraged us to take the experience to other Australian cities so that yoga and music lovers can check it out.”
The two hour class provides a great workout, with three phases: warm up; energising sequences and dance; wind down poses plus relaxation.
